Overview:
This camp offers tweens a unique opportunity to create mixed media art projects using the styles and techniques of America’s greatest artists. Anne Stine, a local mixed media artist, introduces students to the life, work and artistic styles and techniques of American’s greatest artists. Students then create their own art pieces using a technique or material that reflects the work of each master. The most important aspects of the projects are exploration, discovery, and individual creativity; not artistic talent. A wide range of art periods and artists will be covered such as Pollack, Cooney, Tiffany and more. On the last day of camp, students will create their own mixed media artwork using the techniques they learned in class. Students will gain a greater sense of history and art appreciation through biographical information, hands-on experience and class discussion.

Objectives:
Students will complete 5 to 7 small pieces of original artwork based on the styles and subject matter of great American artists, culminating in a final art project of their own choice using the techniques learned during class.
